I’ve got a golden ticket!

Nestle-UK-to-pull-Wonka-bars_strict_xxl

Getting quite excited here at the Candy Crash Labs. As a special Christmas surprise, me and my sister have booked ourselves a break next weekend to go to the bright light of London, but this isn’t just any ordinary trip, oh no! We are also going to see the smash hit musical “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” on the West End! I’m beyond ecstatic and cannot wait to enjoy the production. One of my favourite all time children book from Roald Dahl.

I’m hoping to be taking a few pieces of candy from under the Willy Wonka brand to really get into the candy loving spirit. In the past I have done a few reviews on Wonka products including Gobstoppers, Kazoozles and Sweet Tarts.

Unfortunately, Nestle UK have pulled Wonka chocolate bars from the UK. Nestle UK introduced three varieties to the market (Chocolate Nice Cream, Creme Brulee and Millionaire Shortbread) It was one of the biggest launches since Randoms and Nestle’s popular chocolate bar the Kitkat Chunky, however due to Marvellous Creations from Cadbury stealing the candy sells by storm with their even more imaginative flavour combinations, Nestle decided to pull Wonka chocolate bars from the shelves last June. They are ceased production and the chocolate bars were phased out by the end of 2014. Sad times for myself and others in the UK who loved the variations. On the upside there are many other candies from Wonka that we can still buy and enjoy.

I’ll be reviewing Laffy Taffy and Runts in the upcoming weeks.
